Pete completed his Part 2 Masters at The Univeristy of Sheffield School of Architecture in 2009. His thesis project focused on the notion of national identity and tourism in the eternal city of Rome. The playful investigation into the role of architecture in diplomatic and commercial operations won him the silver medal at RIBA Yorkshire awards. During his time at the school he also designed a number of installations including the construction of a timber Outdoor Classroom and an interactive museum archive.

Previous to AU Studio Pete worked at Van Heyningen Haward Architects in London. During his time there he was involved in a number of education sector projects including a secondary school performing arts facility, a university science building and a low energy primary school in Wales. He has also worked in Manchester on residential projects and the restoration and conversion of a listed synagogue.

Pete enjoys experimenting with mixed media including graphic design, photography and film making. Recent collaborative films include a ‘silent movie’ made in 48 hours and a documentary about a Corbusier/cheese/wine inspired cycle trip from Paris to Marseilles.
