El Qorgi National Park, Libya
AU Studio was commissioned to design this 14h park on the outskirts of Tripoli. The park is organised by themed “strips” which reflect the urban structure of the surrounding context. At the centre of the park, organised as a medina in the park, is a collection of amenity buildings, a health centre, games room, library, cafe and a restaurant. The buildings overlook to external plaza spaces which are interlinked by a canopy at the end of which is a prayer room which is cloaked in an intricate privacy screen.
