Media City, Tripoli, Libya

We were approached by ECOU to design a vision for the future Media City district in Tripoli.

Currently the team is reviewing options with the client to provide a new cultural destination for visitors and residents of the city. The district is within 1 kilometre of the historic centre and is seen as an extension of the classical urban fabric of the city. It’s urban structure has been derived from historic traces in the site going back to when this was Tripoli’s main train station with a strategic connection to the Medina. Fourteen new buildings will form this new city district, including a theatre, museum, library, city archive, hotel, printworks, offices and a number of facilities for the national broadcaster LJBC.
